Hi my name is Vilborg Lóa Jónsdóttir and I'm an artist from Hafnarfjörður, Iceland.
My artistic practice is mostly about the process and that is why it is very important to me. The process is about introspection and the uncontrolled flow of thoughts and feelings. Through the process of artistic creation, I get to know myself and come to various conclusions that I can only come to through art. The working method I continually use is to work in a sketchbook. The sketchbook is a landing pad for these free-flowing thoughts and feelings, which it does impartially and without opinions. What has interested me recently is my connection to my immediate environment, perception, smell, softness and free creation without criticism and expectations. The subject matter of my art has been characterized by my immediate environment and my perception of it. I grew up in Vellir in Hafnarfjörður and the everyday life with a great presence and connection to nature and industry at the same time has had influence on my art.
